Stop Taking It So Seriously — None of Us Are Getting Out Alive

Hello friend,
Let’s just start with the truth:
No one gets out of this alive.
And no, that’s not depressing — it’s freeing.
In three generations (if we’re lucky), no one will remember our names. Not our to-do lists. Not our slightly awkward voice notes. Not the one typo in that important email. Not even the time we embarrassed ourselves at that wedding (okay, maybe that one lingers a bit).
And if that doesn’t give you permission to drop your shoulders, take a deep breath, and laugh a little — what will?
Life Is Ridiculous (In the Best Way)
The fact that we’re spinning on a rock in the middle of space, that we have to pay rent to exist, that we wear socks and go to meetings and argue over where to eat — it’s ridiculous.
But that’s the magic of it.
Life is absurd, precious, and guaranteed to end.
So why are we trying so hard to be perfect? To prove ourselves to people who are also trying to look like they’ve got it together?
Let it go.
Breathe deeper.
Laugh more.
Look ridiculous on purpose.
You Are Allowed to Feel Joy
This isn’t about ignoring the hard stuff — life is hard. But it’s also hilarious. Messy. Beautiful. Strange. Brief.
So maybe we don’t need to carry every single problem like a trophy.
Maybe we can feel things fully, then let them move through us.
Maybe we can stop taking ourselves so seriously — and start living more seriously instead.
How to Wing It
This week, do something just for the joy of it.
Laugh at something dumb. Dance terribly. Call a friend and tell them something ridiculous. Wear the outfit that makes no sense but feels like sunshine.
Enjoy the ride.
Final Thoughts
You’re not here forever.
So live like it matters.
But don’t take yourself too seriously along the way.
Keep winging it.
Big love,
Tim
