How Life Falls into Place (When You Give It a Chance)

Hello friend,
Sometimes, if we’re being honest, life feels a bit like a game of chance, doesn’t it? You put energy out there, you send ideas into the world — and then? You wait and see if something comes back.
That’s exactly how I felt when I recorded a podcast episode last year with Kevin. He had founded a really cool organization — neverplayalone.org — and after our recording, I got curious. I did a little digging, as you do. And suddenly — there was a little spark.
I noticed that a clothing brand I personally love (because it’s just so damn authentic) was following the organization. Pretty unusual. And somehow, it felt like a little sign.
So — bold move: I asked Kevin if he might know someone there. Honestly? I could’ve easily stayed silent. But I went for it. And he said, “Sure, I know someone!”
A few messages later, I was connected with Philipp, the founder of the brand. Philipp first said, “It’s a busy time right now — maybe next year?” I thought, okay, who knows if anything will come from it. Trust. Stay relaxed. Stay open.
And guess what — a few months later he reached out. “Hey, I’m ready now. And by the way, I’m going to be in Hamburg next week. Want to meet up and record the podcast in person?”
Didn’t have to think twice. Of course I wanted to. And so, a few days later, there we were, sitting together, having an amazing conversation, laughing, talking, just genuinely connecting.
But life wasn’t done yet — it had a little bonus round ready:
After our recording, Philipp was supposed to meet some friends for paddle tennis — time was tight, and I happened to be cruising around on my scooter anyway…
And suddenly he said: “Hey, why don’t you just come along? The guys have a free spot.”
And there I was, suddenly right in the middle of it: playing paddle tennis with new people, laughing, sweating, living.
On the ride home, I thought: What a colorful morning. What a beautiful life. And all because I stayed open.
You Can’t Plan Life — But You Can Open the Door
If I had tried to control or perfectly plan everything,
there’s no way I could have orchestrated a day like that.
I could’ve also focused on all the things that didn’t work out.
There’s always that choice, too.
But I choose — consciously — to focus on the beautiful things, on the lightness, on the trust.
Not naively, not blindly — but with intention.
Because otherwise, life eventually turns gray and heavy and bitter.
And that’s not what we’re here for.
How to Wing It
Ask yourself this week: Where can you consciously leave the door open for something to unfold?
Maybe it’s sending a message.
Maybe it’s saying yes to a spontaneous invite.
Maybe it’s simply letting go of needing to control everything.
And if you feel like opening that door a little wider:
I’ve got a free vision worksheet to help you map out your direction and invite life to meet you there. Download it here!
Final Thoughts:
Life is often way better at planning surprises than we are.
Sometimes, we just need to say yes and play along.
Until next week — keep winging it.
Big Love,
Tim
